It feels strange, going “behind the scenes” of my own business, when that’s what I’ll be doing for others. But this is the story of my transformation from Lizzie Cheeld Creative Admin to Backstage VA – and more importantly, what that means for you!
What do you do best?
Ever wondered how a theatre-show is put together? I’ve worked in creative arts for years, so I can tell you exactly how. The best shows look polished and effortless on stage, because there’s a hard-working, collaborative team on hand to make everything happen as it should. And each member of the team has their own particular set of skills (Liam Neeson-style) that works in harmony with the others.
What does this have to do with you? Well, whatever your business does, if it’s not admin you’ll be spending a LOT of time behind the scenes, on tasks that don’t suit your skills. Like Michael Ball working on the stage props, rather than singing his talented heart out in Les Misérables.
Your vision, in the spotlight
Backstage VA is your behind-the-scenes champion. I’ll use my own particular set of skills to keep you and your business in the spotlight… performing at your best, to rave reviews!
I might also call upon other talented people from time to time – because no one person can be a whizz at everything – to keep the show running in the best possible way.
A creative team for creative businesses
That’s one MAJOR change, by the way. ‘Lizzie Cheeld Creative Admin’ didn’t suit my business anymore, for two big reasons. One: I’m not in the spotlight, you are. Two: just like a successful show, a successful business is all about the ‘c-word’ – collaboration!
Working with Backstage VA means you won’t only have access to me and my skills, but my talented team of trusted, skilled and vetted associates who can each do things I’m either not interested in, or don’t do quite as well as them.
ALL businesses are creative
If you think: “But my business isn’t creative!” you’re wrong. If you’ve got a business, you’ve had to find clients, produce work, advertise your products and services, and generally keep things nicely ticking over. Doing all that successfully takes a lot of creative skill. So give yourself some credit, because whatever you happen to do for a living, you are creative. And clearly, so is your business!
How will you work with Backstage VA?
If we’ve never met before, it might feel hard to trust your business vision – not to mention important business tasks – to a complete stranger. I get it. I feel that way myself, sometimes.
That’s why I run a 45-minute ‘audition process’ – you might know it as a Discovery Call – during which you can talk about what you need, and I can listen. From there, we’ll discuss things like the cost-effective packages I offer (for solopreneurs and small businesses) and unique or ad-hoc tasks like design or content creation.
Whatever best puts you exactly where you belong.
